"A picture that will draw in a crowd isn't some "practice" sketch, it's "art". And what is the most important thing in creating a piece of art? [...] It's love!" ― The President to Senpai[source]

An unnamed girl is a supporting character of the Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro manga series. She is a high school - later university - student who served as the "President" (部長, Buchō) of the art club whom Senpai is a member of. The President is a serious, stern and responsible girl, albeit with a habit of public nudity. Despite being semi-retired, she still manages the club's bureaucracy and logistics, eventually becoming enraged and starting a sort of feud with Gamo-chan, Yoshi, Sakura and especially Nagatoro after they turned the club room into their hangout, although she recognizes the younger girl's role as Senpai's muse. Later in the story she Later in the story she is accepted into Tokyo University of the Arts.[2]

Her name is currently unknown, although the first two kanji of her last name has been shown on a paper as Suno... (須ノ…, Suno…).[3]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

The President is a beautiful, shapely and very tall, high schooler (later university student) with long, straight dark purplish-black hair that reach the end of her back (even when she keeps it tied up in a ponytail[4]) and a jagged fringe. She has a royal pallor alike, delicate-looking, fair skin - depicted as so clear that seems to glow in the dark[5] - and sharp, cold-looking crimson eyes.[6][7] In terms of height she towers over every other female character of the series, as well as most males, and has a Junoesque, imposing and athletic[8] physique which has been described as "unreal"[9] with firm butt, massive boobs, a thin waist, long legs and slender arms. Having practiced kendo since early childhood, she's also very muscular and toned.[10] Being her most distintive feature, her bosom is often exaggerated for comedic effect.[11][12] The President is rarely seen smiling[13][14] or smirking[15] and sports an intimidating frown or scowl most of the time.

She typically wears her school uniform consisting of a white button up shirt (whose sleeves and collar she always keeps fully buttoned), a red knot tie and a long navy blue skirt completed with tights and a pair of sneakers. However, in winter she is shown to wear a light brown sweater and occasionally a blue blazer.[16]

When not at school she was shown wearing traditional Japanese clothing,[17] however she likes to spend most of the time completely naked.[18][19][20]

Personality[edit | edit source]

The President scolds Senpai.

The President is a stoic, stern, no-nonsense, dutiful and brooding individual. She treats everything seriously while everyone else is flustered, intimidated or else taking it more lightly, which makes it extremely difficult to realize whether or not she was joking, if ever.[21] Also, she's usually very dramatic, especially when she's fired up about art, over which she's quite passionate, proving to have a true artist's soul and following a life philosophy according to which the secret to creating an authentic piece of art is love.[22] She comes off as a mentor figure and a source of inspiration and encouragement for Senpai,[23] albeit intimidating, authoritarian and disciplinarian to the point he describes her as "a bit scary".[24] The President also tends to be judgmentalist, describing Nagatoro and her clique as a "a bunch of good-for-nothing"[25] without really knowing them and assuming their presence made Senpai unproductive (which is a rough and false assumption); this is the main reason for the animosity between her and the girls who, despite what she wrongly assumed about them, always manage to defeat her.[26][27]

The President is also absolutely shameless or at least extremely nonchalant about the nude human form, particularly her own, as expressed through her art and to the point of exhibiting noticeable nudist tendencies in real life. As revealed in the Official Fanbook, she does really like to be naked whenever she can get away with it, and is later confirmed to be also a streaker, with her habit of running around school naked late at night, eventually creating the legend of Kazehaya High School's "Female Pale Ghost" (白い女の霊, Shiroi on'na no rei).[5]

The President don't make any attempt to cover her nudity in front of Senpai and Nagatoro.

Albeit she dresses conservatively in school uniform with a much longer skirt than Nagatoro, Gamo-chan, Yoshi or Sakura, she has no qualms about talking to Senpai while wearing just a towel,[28] taking off everything in front of him being indifferent to his unease,[29] doing fully nude self-portrait from the back[30] and from front[31] on each Culture Festival, modeling for Senpai in just a swimsuit implying she wore less in the past for her club members,[32] running a school marathon in a skimpy playboy bunny suit,[33] making no attempt to cover herself after being caught naked by Nagatoro and Senpai in the woods - declaring the wind blew away her robe while she was taking reference photos - and treating the situation very matter-of-factly as she was on her way to just hike down in the buff.[34] She also once advised Senpai to "free himself" and seek inspiration in the outdoors, as she always did, prompting him to imagine her dancing naked into the woods.[35] The President considers her body a powerful tool to convey the sense of artistic pursuit in a holistic manner,[36] but seems largely unaware of how truly stunning she is or the effect she has on people as she behaves in a largely asexual manner despite exuding sexiness in every inch of her artwork. Regardless of this, she once used her charm and intimidating aura to faking a lesbian intrest for Nagatoro in order to make her uncomfortable.[37]

The President willingly wears her bunny suit.

It was also slightly hinted that she find pleasure in humiliation, since after Nagatoro's clique forced her to wear a playboy bunny suit after she lost against them at the Culture Festival and paraded her through the school, she stated to having find it embarrassing but that the oppressive feeling was an experience that made her creativity bursting forth as if she was about to "unleash something yet unseen before",[38] prompting her to start to wear said costume willingly.[39]

In spite of her intimidating aura, she and Nagatoro can inadvertently get into the same goofy situations much to Senpai's discomfort,[40] also she might have a certain level of hidden feelings for the boy,[41][42] greatly respecting him as a fellow artist and, recognizing Nagatoro as his muse, being more than willing to support the relationship between them as she preferred his happiness over her own interests.[43][44] She's seemingly seeking to make him a better person and bring him out of his shell, particularly focusing on his art skills in a "stern teacher" kind of way.

She has an habit to pose quite often with her arms crossed to convey her authority and demeanor, and also to support her large chest.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life[edit | edit source]

She was born on June 19[1] in Hayama, Kanagawa,[45] an only child. She hail from an influential and wealthy background; however she was rised mostly by her grandparents due to her parents busy jobs.[1] Her grandfather, the owner of a kendo dōjō, teached said discipline to her since an early age.[46] She grew up in an uptown luxury house close to the city's shrine,[45] where it's implied she serves as a miko.

The President's self-portrait for her second year's Culture Festival.

After reaching teenhood she began to attend Kazehaya High School and became the President of the art club.[47] An extremely passionate and talented painter and artistic performer, the President was selected for awards in many different contests, once even reaching top ranking in an exhibition that included university students.[48]

Senpai and the President part ways after the Culture Festival.

During her second year, an introverted but talented boy joined the club developing a huge crush on her. The President began to harbor a great respect for his skills and to some extent reciprocated his feelings. However, on the last day of the school's Cultural Festival, where the main attraction was a fully nude self-portrait of hers from the back,[49] and in which the boy helped her organize their club's display resulting in a huge success, she thanked him for having allowed her to have some good memories before having to go to cram school like all the second years, thus becoming unable to join club activities anymore and leaving the art club and its activities to him.[50]

Since then the President, and all of the other members, left the club and, albeit she kept managing it's bureaucracy and logistics, the boy was left as the only club member.[51]

She then began to study hard aiming for an Art University after she graduate.[1]

Story arcs[edit | edit source]

Culture Festival[edit | edit source]

After hearing some rumors from the student council that her club has become a hangout for "a bunch of good-for-nothing",[52] one afternoon she went back to the club room with a stern expression on her face.[53]

Nagatoro accepts the President's challenge.

At first the girl informed Senpai that she would help the art club display by submitting also one of her painting, then she scolded him for said rumors, telling him was disappointed for him inviting people and being rowdy and remembering him that the art club was not a playground. The President, also saw Senpai's paint of Nekotoro and criticized it, saying that wasn't the manga research club, then informing him that she spoke with the student council and was thinking about disbanding the club, leaving him unable to reply. Then Nagatoro came out of the prep room, where she was hidden by the boy alongside her friends, and face the girl herself accusing her of being selfish and unreasonable as she was the one who abandoned the club only to suddenly walk back in it talking about disbandment. The President dismissed said accuse stating that if the only club member lacked motivation there were no reason for the club to continue, thus angering Nagatoro who finally lashed out making her feelings for Senpai transpiring and yelling that even by himself he has always worked really damn hard. Hearing this, the President suggested that Senpai held his own art display independently from the club and, if he defeated hers in the school's popularity contest she would have rescinded the club's disbandment. Although Senpai was not very confident about it, Nagatoro immediately accepted the challenge in his stead.[54]

The President urges Senpai to chase Nagatoro.

The following day, the President took possession of the art club in order to work on her painting, leaving him the prep room. While the boy was doing a still life, she approached him, wearing just a towel since she was doing another nude self-portrait, and told him it was a boring job since in order to be art a painting had to have love in it. Nagatoro entered the room to visit Senpai and, seeing the President half-naked with him, run away deeply saddened. Seemingly understanding the girl's feelings, the President ordered Senpai to chase her, saying that was also what art was about; which he immediately does.[55]

Senpai and the President decorates the panels for the entrance of the Cultural Festival.

Few days later, as the only members of the art club, Senpai and the President were both asked to help decorating the panels for the entrance of the Cultural Festival, then walking back together after having finished it, they talked about how their respective submission was coming along and the President said she won't hold back. Then, passing by the corridor they listen some voices of Nagatoro and her friends inside the art room[56] and the President told him he mustn't eavesdrop on them and that regardless what they were planning the match was between the two of them, despite Senpai believed it doesn't seemed like that anymore. Right at that moment, a group of girls looked inside the room and sawing Nagatoro and her friends started to mumble about "Toro-Cat" and some related straps, puzzling Senpai who, looking at a strap on the President's bag asked her about it prompting the latter to tell him it was very popular in her class in that period, prior to showing him it was actually a caricature of Nagatoro in her cat costume.[57]

The President's self-portrait for her third year's Culture Festival.

The day of the Cultural Festival, the President has no problem in talking smoothly in front of the cameras when the school journal interview her, inviting everyone to visit her exhibition, however, after Nagatoro and her friends began gathering people using Toro-Cat's popularity, as the hours passed lots of people went to see the President's new nude self-portrait, yet Senpai's exhibition seemed to gathered more interest.[58] Later on the President's display was shut down by the student council as they has given her permission only depending on what they would have seen on the actual day[59] and ultimately deemed it "too immoral for a school".

he President's penalty for losing against Senpai and the girls.

While she was escorted away, Nagatoro and Gamo-chan forced her to admit they have won the match as she lose due to disqualification thus, after exulting, in order to further humiliate her the girls forced the President to wear a skimpy bunny suit and sell their straps all over the school. After getting a sold out the girls allowed her to go and she went back to Senpai's exposition, where the boy suggested her to take off the bunny costume before risking other trouble with the student council. Nagatoro entered right at the moment in which the shameless girl was about to strip in front of Senpai, preventing her from doing it and prompting her to lie that she was just joking. Then looking at Senpai's paintings of Nagatoro, the President told him that there was "love" in it, thus making both Nagatoro and Senpai blush.[60]

Sending Nagatoro and Senpai on a date at the zoo[edit | edit source]

The President gives Senpai tickets for the zoo telling him to free himself in the nature.

Few days after the end of the Culture Festival, seeing Senpai seemingly having problem getting in the mood to do a good painting, the President gave him two tickets to the zoo so he could sketch while in the outdoors, ordering him to try invite the one she called the "cat girl", since if an outsider like her kept barging into the club she should at least draw something every now and then.[61]

During said date, Senpai ended up remembering the President's philosophy about love being the secret to make a good picture in two occasion, when Nagatoro asked about it[62] and after she made a well drawn and realistic sketch of him.[63]

Coming of winter[edit | edit source]

Senpai and the girls race the President.

During the school wide marathon, the President run wearing her bunny suit since cosplaying was allowed and at some point overrun Senpai, Nagatoro, Gamo-chan, Yoshi and Sakura, prompting the girls to get motivated into "beating the hare".[64] During the last mile, likely expecting some kind of challenge from the clique, she talk with herself out loud saying she was disappointed from the "cat girls" not having raced her, however right at that moment the whole gang reached for her trasporting Senpai in a formation similar to a human cart. The girl still managed to be faster than the group, until Gamo-chan told Yoshi to run in front of them using her almost superhuman speed to act as a windbreak and increasing their speed, managing to easily beat the President, albeit getting disqualified by the teachers because of their formation.[65]

First name arc[edit | edit source]

After Senpai catch a flu, Nagatoro "wrung his address out of the President" in order to visit him.[66]

Christmas[edit | edit source]

The President enjoy the atmosphere of the art club room feeling it on her skin.

On Christmas Eve, the President decided to enjoy the club room one last time (before the year ended) by taking all of her clothes off and "feeling its atmosphere on her skin" by walking through it fully naked. After entering the room, however, she met Nagatoro and Senpai, interrupting them while they were trying to find the right moment to exchange their respective Christmas gifts; after explaining nonchalantly why she was in the buff, the President was called an "horny bunny" by Nagatoro, then she asked if they were on a tryst, causing both her pupil and the younger girl to blush and run off, storming out of the room.[67]

The President naked at school late at night.

The President's strongly against the school protocol deed apparently goes unnoticed by the strict professor Yamaguchi and she seemingly performed it so often to unknowingly creating the legend of a "pale female ghost" appearing long after closing time in the dead silence of the hallways.[68]

While streaking throughout the school hallways late that night, she run into Rabi-chan and her boyfriend, who were leaving the school in order to go on their Christmas Eve's date while talking about the rumor generated by her activities. Thinking that the legend was true, and mistaking her for a ghost, the couple quickly run off leaving her perplexed and dumbfounded as she didn't realized the reason of their sudden panic.[5]

University[edit | edit source]

She passed the entrance exam of Tokyo University of the Arts on her first try and is thus complimented by Senpai, however the girl explained that was merely the first step informing that he would be next and asking him if he had decided his own path, to which the boy replied that he wanted to enter a fine art university too, prompting the President to smile gleefully, saying he didn't expect such a clear and direct answer from him asking if it was because of the "Cat-Girl" influence, which Senpai promptly debunked.[69]

Judo Tournament[edit | edit source]

The President has randori with Senpai.

Few days later Gamo-chan and Yoshi informed her that Senpai have been receiving training in order to compete in the upcoming judo tournament, so she called him at the school's judo hall and decided to give him an hand. As they got into position, however, the boy noticed that she's not wearing anything undeneath her judogi which distracted Senpai as the girl slammed him to the ground. Meanwhile, having misunderstood in a sexual way her friends' description about what was happening, Nagatoro reached for them finding Senpai pinned to the floor under the girl's massive breasts. Afterward, she offered to train Senpai personally, yet he declined, informing her that Nagatoro was already teaching him, much to the latter's joy.[70]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • When she showed the disbandment form to Senpai, the third kanji of her last name is partially covered with a balloon, implying her full surname may be Sunomata (須ノ又), Sunomiya (須ノ宮), Sunokawa (須ノ川), or something similar.[71] However when shown for the second time as she rips it in half, the box that should contain her name seem to be left in white.[72]
    • Due to her home being placed close to the shrine according to the official town map,[45] it's possible that her surname is indeed "Sunomiya" a reference to the existing Sunomiya Shrine (須ノ宮神社, Sunomiya jinja) in Hayama, the city in which the manga is set.
  • The knot tie that the President wears in her uniform is identical to the one Gamo-chan wore in Chapter 1 and that was never seen again afterwards.
  • She is the only character beside Nagatoro to having been featured on a manga cover, as she appear on the second variant of Volume 6.
  • After being humiliated and forcibly paraded throughout the school wearing a skimpy bunny-suit by Nagatoro and her friends, they start to associate her to a rabbit, even calling her "Bunny-Girl".
    • To strengthen this association, is the fact that she started to wear said outfit willingly[73] also, she naturally has crimson irises, which is usually a common bunny eye color.[6][7]
  • According to her character profile in the Official Fanbook her favourite food is Yukon Gold potato while she really hates junk food.
  • Due to being the only character featured on Side Story 10, she's the first character to having ever appeared in a chapter of some sort without Nagatoro and Senpai.
  • The President's official measurements are: 108-62-94.[1]
  • Being born in June 19, the President is eleven months older than Senpai, as well as the older of all the main characters.[1]
  • The President is the first, and only, character to have been shown in a full-frontal nudity uncensored, albeit with doll-like groin, in both the main story (Chapter 70) and the Bonus chapters (17). Previously, Nagatoro, Gamo-chan and Yoshi had been all shown naked in Chapter 33 but their private parts were all censored.
  • The President is often described by fans as an exhibitionist, in part due to many of Nanashi's pre-serialization erotic work having similar themes. But this may not be accurate in her case and she may be better described as a nudist, who simply likes to be naked and chooses to do it in public, since exhibitionism formally refers to a sexual kink where people gain pleasure from exposing themselves or doing sexual acts in public, and the President's stoic manner makes her actions feel largely asexual and it's thus hard to read her intentions towards others when she does it, though Nagatoro does call her "horny".
    • For instance, while streaking is a classic prank or activity done for sexual thrills, she doesn't seem to account for other people possibly seeing her when going naked in the woods or at school after hours.
    • The closest she has come to acknowledging this is in the Official Fanbook, where in response to a question asking "why are you like that?", she exhibits confusion about what the question means but in the end mentions her "libido".
  • Compared to the other support characters, the President is less present in the manga chapters, however since her first appearance she has been featured, or was even protagonist, of at least one Bonus Chapter each volume.
  • The color with whom she’s associated in her profile page on the anime official website is red.
